Old Fruit Market, Glasgow
May 16th, 2026
Glasgow’s wonderful music venue, the Old Fruit market, was open for a concert of the greatest proportions.
A large audience had been gathered together for the well-known and long-loved actor Kiefer, Sutherland. Seeing him onstage brought about a fantastic sense of inspiration, serving up excellent and stylish Country Rock so well celebrated across the pond.
It was funny to see such a mix of age groups, those who remembered his 8os and 90s movies from the first time round, along with the younger attendance of fresh fans. This gig was one of many during Kiefer’s 2026 ‘Love Will Bring You Home’ tour, and our night in the Old Fruit Market was 3 dates in. A the brilliant space that comes to life for live music, first on stepped Irelands own Colin Andrew, and on stepped a night for music of good measure.

He took to stage on his own just – vocal and guitar and a background of success in the field of modern music. In a pop/folk atmosphere, the filtering room felt the flow as it spread with speed. His soft sincerity coupled greatly to his guitar, with his vocally uplifting songs grabbing the venue’s attention.
This great evening was ticking every box, and the venue wouldn’t have been the first place I’d look for such a well known figure in acting. It is an Old Fruit Market (apt title) whose detailed interior just asks for great music, fun and letting go.

The sound-checks and positions led to lights-out on the stage – then Kiefer strides on with his band – all picking up their instruments simultaneously – 2 guitars (him playing one), bass & drums – & almost straight away struck into song.
The band are at the start of this big tour, having this year released a new album ‘Grey’. Since recording ‘Down in a Hole’ in 2016, progress has been made as Keifer’s solo motivations have come together in the past decade. Watching him and his band onstage we could see and feel the experience being made effortless, during songs that perturbed the grandest of vistas.

The content of music was mostly centred around their two recent albums, the afore mentioned ‘Grey’, and ‘Goodbye California’, all true-to-life stories about the great actor’s time with music. The sound was full, overdrive guitar, that solo’d enviably, opened by vocal and lyrical provisions. Then covering a famous (90’s) song by Scottish band Garbage called ‘I’m Only Happy When It Rains’, gave us a deep and ice-breaking timely change of vibe.
A brilliant night!
