King Tuts Wah Wah Hut
Glasgow
3rd April, 2026
On a cold Spring evening we marched up to Glasgow’s King Tuts Wah Wah Hut,in order to see a vivacious band called Vida (Spanish for Life). First on, though, were The High Flats, a young band from Glasgow. Having formed in their youth, they possessed a brilliance & a fired-up presence, flying a fresh flag for rock & roll. The Mancunian presence and influence was clear, but they certainly surfed a new wave of her own.

Second on for the night were the warmly welcomed (anf thoroughly prepped up) Allsorts. The rock & roll theme for the night now stepped up a nothch, in a room filled with revellers, fans and aficionados. We took in this sheer talent, strutting on a stage in the highest state of energy. Guitars, mic, bass, drum, all booming into a loud, yet profoundly detailed cacophony.

On came the long-awaited Vida, a five piece from Central Scotland. Originally formed in 2013, this uber-octane group began injecting into the Scottish music scene an unstoppable speed and formidable passion, as reflected in 2016’s EP, ‘Masquerade/Fade Away’.

Starting with a punch and then every note building up the wall of sound so well worth seeing, Vida’s presence has a strong centre, and they perform as with artists, consummate with prowess. Videos, album covers, and of course their music shake up & stir spice into the ever-evolving stew of rock & roll.

As vida’s enthusiasm ran riot, all abloom with confidence, we had loads of fun in a place where there was plenty to be had.
