King Tuts Wah Wah Hut, Glasgow
20th Feb, 2026
Glasgow’s King Tuts is an easy find up Vincent street. It’s illustrious reputation as a band-discovering venue has slamm’d it firmly on the international map. We were there for a weekend gig of a band called Noso. Headed by Korean/American artist, Hwong, their 2022 debut album release was a goof 5-years in the making, upon which release its highly sensitive music was lauded with great tribute.

Once into the venue, you pass through the pub and up the stairs to the raised room behind it. To kick off the evening, on steps a solo performance (of guitar and vocal) from Goodnight Louisa. A songstress of vast proportions, she couples her certain, highly melodic guitar with soulfully significant music, shaping a performing persona from the rhythms of her guitar.

Then it was time to revel & celebrate Noso’s music, their musical personality a montage of sound and good-looking style & effervescent energy. The three-piece, percussion, guitar/vocals and delectably sufficient bass, captured their room with inciteful lyrics and exuberant play.

From their inception as a band, Noso made the courageous decision as teenagers to go to Los Angeles and develop their heart-breaking sound, strengthen’d with an edge of unforgettable raucusness. Their well-honed act enjoyed some rivetingly poignant moments, born of an indestructible bond for the sake and, of course the love, of music.

Softness was on the cards at this gig, softness and a wonderfully skilful kind of peace that filled the room – peace and pain and fulfilment. Their story is quite remarkable as is their current tour. The works of Jeff Buckley came to mind as a way of describing for you the exact soundscapery. But ultimately there were many genres fused together, all chaperoned by a simplicity of song-writing & prevailing social awareness.
This chilled-out, romantically driven band, commanded a calmness of feeling ,but also a straight forward and upfront message delievered to an audience invsted in their enthrallment.
