Jim Jones All Stars

CCA, Glasgow
11th October, 2025

Glasgow art’s, cultural and music centre, the CCA, is a bustling environment during the day, and a place for music in the evening. Situated not far from Charing Cross, we were there to see a revered rock n’ roll band called Jim Jones All Stars who come from London.

Supporting them on the tour was one Seafoam Green, an Irish duo playing with electric guitar and two vocals. We walked in and caught sight of a stage alive and an audience ready for rock. Seafoam had a great and loud presence, overdrive turned up, and vocals delivered in a way of revving up a room with the sound of two well-practiced afficionados.

The room had good acoustics, and as Jim’s band came on, the All Stars are a barrage of 9 players that include two Sax, shared vocals, keyboard… as the rock oozed out with songs of ecstasy, prevailing into the genre with the freshest vibe on the scene.

They filled the stage with both numbers and joys in a nonstop party of rock. All linking around the singer Jim, who went straight to the job of vocalist, entertaining, festive-like energy, and a clear way of leading it, cajoling it and possessing a real sense for it.

It was a loud night, lifting the mood, taking us on quite a journey, as the audience swayed and rocked and steadily livened. The music took some sophisticated turns, unleashing a kind of happy music, and holding a pressing honesty in the lyrics and band accompaniments – ‘Born to Ride’ indeed.

Their open style of rock n’ roll was fused with a little ska, jazz and somewhat country, making their vibe a kind of pivotal rock. There was a sense of the edge in their way, wonderfully playing effortlessly and with a barrel of an ability to change the room as moments arose, precision playing its part of this very well-oiled band.

Their tour will take them across the UK with Seafoam as support, having released their album ‘Ain’t no Peril’ it has shown them to be a fascinating band full of rich happenings, reaching psychedelic levels and having a ground presence for their great music and camaraderie.

The energy of the night was cranked up high, a causation of delivery strongly bound with an obvious passion for making life come alive with the grace and understanding of what is rock n’ roll. It’ i an energy you can bite, and a style you can taste. It is music you can play anywhere, and it is among the highest levels of entertainment.
