St Luke’s, Glasgow
30th April, 2025
I turned up last night for an amazing gig at Glasgow’s ever popular St Luke’s, a former church turned music venue. It’s always fab to take it in there, with its tall ceilings, decorative glass and venerable stage. This was to be a high energy evening as Pistol Daisy’s sprang on stage.
The night would be divided up between 3 Acts, but I was there to see the super-streaming Daisy’s, a rock trio with a very fresh take on things. They were the first support for evening, playing some flavoursome music; self-written, with an energy bursting through, and into the audience. The vibe at this special place has a strong character for letting us go into relams of relaxed revelry, and as the ‘Daisys’ rock music swept us off our feet, we all felt beautifully fulfilled by their performance.

Coming from Glasgow, their debut album ‘Whiskey & Wine’ , released in 2023, gave us music with rare a style and presence. The band’s telecaster guitar was in the hands of some masterful playing, while the two front-girls shared vocals – solos and duos -, backed by this thumping rhythmic drum-beat, all fleshed out bypre-recorded bass, with both band and their audience having a great time.
We caught the Daisys in full flight, tonight; fine tunes of loud, unrelenting brilliance, sweeping across the board with an abundance of styles. The songs were heavily laden with appeal, fabulousness and rock n’ roll vigour.

Releasing three albums, some singles and EP’s, these guys are busy on their fast rise to rock n’ roll prominence, with their young but vast experience seeing them stand out all the more. Beauty, pain, love and intensity are all incorporated into these songs that already seem legendary, a joy for the ears and eyes of those keen on a heightened level of writing.
From above us they take good care of the room, having absolutely mastered their stage-presence; talkinf to and entertaining the crowd with a welcoming jive well, sending out strong waves of musical powers and prowess, celebrating every aspect of life and honouring it with music.

They were beaming liberty with their slick deliveries, bravado, stances and anthemic vocals, and we all rose with gusto to the journey they are on. Pistol Daisys took me off guard I am now a fan!
